The Golden State Warriors were eliminated from playoff consideration by the Memphis Grizzlies last year, losing a heartbreaker in overtime. Their first chance at revenge this year fell flat, as they again lost to the gritty Grizzlies in overtime. I’ve heard of revenge being a dish best served cold, but at this point the dish isn’t just cold, it is simultaneously frozen and spoiled. But the Warriors served it up anyway and finally out-executed an opponent down the stretch when it mattered the most. Despite the continued absences of Klay Thompson and James Wiseman, despite Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins still being in the NBA’s health and safety protocols, despite the Grizzlies coming out looking like they wouldn’t miss a single shot, and despite a heavy dependence on the brilliance of Stephen Curry, the Warriors beat the Grizzlies 113-104.
