Jimenez’s first viral shot came on Nov. 12, when the Warriors faced the Chicago Bulls. He caught Steph Curry right as Curry was looking away from the basket, moments before his 3-pointer swished, while an arena of teammates, defenders and fans stared in frozen anticipation.
Since crowned the “coldest photo of the year,” Jimenez’s picture further solidifies Curry’s mythic stature — a shooter who is unafraid to look away, even when the rest of us watch in amazement.
“I’ve practiced taking hundreds of shots of players during basketball practices,” Jimenez says. “I’ve practiced that photo, just like Curry practices his shots in the gym.
