The 2019 NBA free agency class is absolutely loaded. The Golden State Warriors will have three headlining names as DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson will all be up for new contracts.
What does that mean for the Warriors?
For starters, it means that, unless they see at least two of the three take significant pay cuts, they won’t be returning the same, dynamic roster.
Cousins’ plan was likely always to leave after regaining his footing in Golden State, but as for Durant and Thompson, it’ll be the Warriors that decide their fate. With one max contract and limited cap space, the Warriors will have a difficult decision on their hands once free agency hits.
