One of the two worst teams record-wise in the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors may very easily go from five straight NBA Finals to one of the top teams in the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery.
This seemingly happened overnight. No, it wasn’t because the team or personnel lost faith in head coach Steve Kerr or the culture surrounding the team diminished, but because of the absence of Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant.
Those two hurt the Warriors, but they were far from out.
The initial plan was to maintain competence until Klay’s mid-March return. Well, it’s looking like Klay may be able to take the entire season off as Stephen Curry’s broken left hand may have doomed those initial hopes.
