By their standards, the Golden State Warriors had a horrific season. A forgettable one, the NBA is currently suspended, and the Warriors had entered this waiting period as the only team not still in playoff contention.
The Warriors had one just 15 games. With 17 left in an 82-game season, the Warriors had accumulated 50 losses. After five straight Finals appearances, the Warriors just dropped the ball, but, at the very least, it was expected.
Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, Golden State’s two stars, had combined for just five games. Thompson, who tore his ACL in the 2019 NBA Finals, missed the entire season, and Curry missed the bulk of the season with a broken left hand.
