The major story this morning around the Golden State Warriors was that the team had unanimously agreed to skip their White House visit as a boycott against Donald Trump. However, that report might be a classic case of fake news.
The original report seems to stem from Mike Sington, who is a Executive at NBCUniversal and claims to be an entertainment and pop culture insider.

It then gained traction when a CNBC report said "several reports" indicated that was the case.
NBA champion Warriors skipping the White House visit, as a unanimous team decision per reports.

Now, a USA Today reporter says the Warriors haven't decided to do anything.
Per multiple NBA sources, reports right now on Warriors not going to White House are untrue; team hasn't received invitation or discussed.
— Jeff Zillgitt (@JeffZillgitt) June 13, 2017
A team spokesman also said the Warriors have not been invited yet.
It appears that many outlets ran with the story based on Josh Brown's tweet, in an effort to be fast and not last. And the claim the Warriors would skip the White House visit makes sense, given the comments from both players and coaches. They very well could elect to do just that, but if Zillgitt is to believed (and he's more credible than the other two), then the Warriors haven't actually decided anything.
