The Golden State Warriors are adding another big man to help fill out their roster. It's talented, but underachieving JaVale McGee.
The Warriors are signing veteran center JaVale McGee to a make-good deal for a chance to make the team in training camp, league sources say.

For those unfamiliar with a "make-good deal," it means that McGee will get to participate in training camp, but that he's not assured a roster spot. It's basically a non-guaranteed contract.
McGee has always has talent, but the effort, basketball IQ and focus hasn't always been there. That's why he's been a regular on "Shaqtin-A-Fool" for his questionable plays.
The former first round pick has bounced around the NBA since joining in 2008. He could fill a needed role as a rim protector for the Warriors, if he makes the roster. Outside of free agent addition Zaza Pachulia and first round pick Damian Jones, the Warriors lack another center. Plus, Jones might not be ready to contribute.
It's a low-risk, high-reward move as McGee is only 28 years old and just a few seasons away from putting up 11 points, eight rebounds and two blocks per game.
