The Golden State Warriors showed the heart of a champion in Game 6, using Klay Thompson's historic shooting to pull off a comeback 108-101 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 6.
Thompson made a NBA playoff record 11 three-pointers in the game to lead the Warriors as they fought off elimination for the second straight game.
After a close first quarter in which both sides traded leads, Oklahoma City looked like they were going to run away with this one in the second quarter. A quick 10-1 run gave them a 12-point lead, yet Golden State managed to hang around (thanks to Thompson's hot shooting) and trailed just 53-48 at halftime.
Two more Thompson three-pointers at the start of the third quarter gave the Warriors the lead back, setting the stage for another back-and-forth quarter - that is, until the Thunder closed the period on a 9-2 run to build an eight-point lead.
Oklahoma City maintained that lead throughout much of the fourth, but a Curry three tied the game 99-99 with 2:47 left.

The score remained tied until Thompson's 11th long range bomb gave Golden State a three-point advantage with a minute and a half to play. Oklahoma City then turned the ball over four times in the final minute as the Warriors held on for the victory.
Russell Westbrook put up his 14th double-double in the playoffs (28 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists) to lead the Thunder, while Durant added another 29. Serge Ibaka also chipped in 13 points and nine rebounds.
Thompson finished the game with 41 points to lead the Warriors. Curry played well with 29 points, nine assists and 10 rebounds, and Draymond Green added another 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Game 7 of this series will be on Monday in Oakland at 9:00 pm ET on TNT. The winner will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, which start on Thursday, June 2.
