A tie game at the half turned into a blowout Wednesday night. The Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder were knotted at 56 at the half, but that changed drastically in third quarter. The Warriors didn't turn it over a single time in the third period, outscoring the Thunder 37-22 in the frame. Leading by 20 or more for much of fourth quarter, the Warriors (36-6) picked up a 121-99 win over the Thunder (25-19).
Kevin Durant, playing against his old team for the second time, went off. He had 33 points on 11 of 14 shooting in the first three quarters, finishing with a season-high 40 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks. He was an absurd 13 of 16 from the field.
Stephen Curry added 24 points, 8 assists and 3 steals. Klay Thompson, who barely made it back for tonight's game after visiting an ill family member, had 14 points. Draymond Green had 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.
Russell Westbrook posted yet another triple-double, but it wasn't enough. Westbrook posted 27 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists. But, he also had 10 turnovers, giving him a "quadruple-double."
With Steven Adams out, Enes Kanter came off the bench and posted 22 points and 9 rebounds. Victor Oladipo was the third leading-scorer with 20 points. But outside of those three, no Thunder player had more than seven points.
The Warriors' passing was once again on full display. They had 34 assists, while Oklahoma City had just 21. Both teams turned it over 18 times.
The two teams will not play again until February 11th. That game will be in Oklahoma City.
