Few people noticed when center Anderson Varejao signed with the Golden State Warriors after he was bought out by the Portland Trail Blazers after the Cleveland Cavaliers traded him there, but he did make headlines when he appeared to take a shot at his former team.
"I'm glad I came here because I can tell they love each other," Varejao told CSNBayArea's Monte Poole shortly after joining the Warriors. "When you want to win, you have to be like they are. Friends have fun out there, fun in the locker room."
Some thought that was him pumping up his new team while throwing a jab at the Cavs, where he spent the first 11 and a half seasons of his career, but LeBron James said the Cavs didn't take it that way.
"I would hope if you're 50-5 that everyone loves each other," James said. "What else do you want at that point? Duh."
Varejao is averaging just 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per game so far this season.
