The Golden State Warriors have gotten off to the best 52-game start in NBA history, posting a 48-4 record, and their dominance has caused many to wonder when they could possibly lose again, and who they could lose to.
They start the second half of the season with an extremely tough eight-game stretch, starting with a six-game road trip and home games against the Atlanta Hawks and Oklahoma City Thunder.
First Take discussed how many losses the Warriors could suffer during this stretch, with Stephen A. Smith suggesting they'll go 7-1, dropping one of their two contests against the Thunder. Golden State plays at Oklahoma City on Feb. 27, and then will host the Thunder just a few days later on Mar. 3.
However, Skip Bayless sung a different tune, saying he sees Golden State losing "two or three" games in the coming weeks. He predicts their first loss will come in the second game of a back-to-back (two games in two nights) when they face the Los Angeles Clippers on the road on Feb. 20, along with a loss to the Thunder and then potential a third loss to the Orlando Magic, which is also the second-game of a back-to-back and fifth game in seven nights.
Both Smith and Bayless cite the Thunder's near comeback victory over the Warriors in their previous matchup as the reason why they think OKC will beat Golden State, and Bayless stressed the difficulty of playing back-to-back games as reasons why he thinks the Warriors could lose multiple times.
Three of Golden State's four losses have come in back-to-back sets. Their first loss of the season - to the Milwaukee Bucks - was largely attributed to road trip fatigue, which Bayless thinks could cost them against Orlando.
