Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut could return to action Monday night against the Detroit Pistons, according to multiple reports.
Bogut, who has missed six straight games after suffering a concussion in the season opener against the Pelicans, will be evaluated after the team's shootaround. His status for the game will be determined then, but Warriors interim head coach Luke Walton said Golden State plans to ease their big man back into the rotation as the backup to Festus Ezeli.
“It’s probably more about easing him back in. He hasn’t played in a while now,” Walton said, via SFGate.com. “That’s something that’ll be decided once we know he’s 100 percent.”
Walton also said it will be head coach Steve Kerr's decision as to when Bogut plays.
Ezeli is averaging 10.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game this season, while Bogut averaged 6.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game last year. Bogut did score 12 points and grab five rebounds in the opener before getting hurt.
