Stephen Curry had 34 points and David Lee had 20, but it wasn’t enough for the Warriors to win their 11th straight game and 7th straight on the road. Golden State was one win away from making NBA history - no team had ever gone undefeated on a road trip of seven games or more - but playing the Brooklyn Nets on the second night of a back-to-back was too much for the worn-out Warriors to handle.
The Nets seemed to want this win just as badly as the Warriors did. There were five ties in the first seven minutes of the fourth quarter, but in the final minutes the Warriors just couldn’t keep up.
Golden State was ahead 93-89 with 4:06 left in the fourth, but the lead didn’t last long. Stephen Curry made three free-throws after getting fouled with 9.1 seconds remaining, but besides free-throws, the Warriors couldn’t get a shot to fall after Klay Thompson’s 3-pointer with 4:07 left. Curry made a jumper with 5.8 seconds to go, but it was too little, too late - the Warriors ended up losing 98-102.
Despite the Warriors' loss on Wednesday, they had a good run and should be proud of their accomplishments. Let’s take a look back at their 10-game winning streak:
1. December 21, 2013: Warriors 102, Lakers 83
The Warriors beat a depleted Lakers team thanks to Andrew Bogut's huge defensive night. Bogut grabbed 20 rebounds, and while the Warriors only shot 38.8% from the field, they were still able to pull away with the win. Stephen Curry only added 15 points to the victory, but he was able to add 10 assists, including this one:

2. December 23, 2013: Warriors 89, Denver 81
David Lee carried the team on his back and proved to everyone who doubted him just how important he was to the Warriors. Lee scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the victory.

3. December 25, 2013: Warriors 105, Clippers 103
There wasn’t much Christmas spirit on display in this Christmas game, but both teams ended up with a Christmas present: a bona-fide rivalry. Multiple fights broke out during the game, which resulted in two ejections and multiple technical fouls.

4. December 27, 2013: Warriors 115, Suns 86
Stephen Curry didn’t play the entire game, but he was able to get his third career triple-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 16 assists. The Warriors finally got some production from their bench, allowing their starters to sit for the entire fourth quarter.

5. December 29, 2013: Warriors 108, Cavaliers 104
The beginning of Golden State's miraculous seven-game road trip started in Cleveland. It wasn’t an easy game for the Warriors to win, but luckily David Lee came to life in the second half—he scored all of his 19 points after halftime. The game went into overtime, where Golden State won by outscoring the Cavaliers 9-5 in the extra period. Stephen Curry added 29 points in the victory, including the game-winning shot with 13 seconds remaining.

6. December 31, 2013: Warriors 94, Magic 81
Golden State quickly jumped out to a 24-point lead before the end of the first half, and continued to dominate from there. They played a near perfect game—their defense was superb, and the offense was firing on all cylinders. The Warriors shot 48.2% and outrebounded the Magic 56-37. This game started the #FullSquad hashtag after David Lee repeatedly mentioned it during a postgame interview. Golden State ended 2013 with a big win.

7. January 2, 2014: Warriors 123, Heat 114
It seems as if the Warriors play their best in Florida. After closing 2013 with a win in Orlando, the Warriors played the Miami Heat in their first game of 2014. David Lee had 32 points on 13-for-17 shooting as well as 14 rebounds, and Curry scored a game-high 36 points in the victory. The Warriors led for the majority of the game, and were up by as many as 15 points against the defending champs.

8. January 3, 2014: Warriors 101, Hawks 100
After defeating the Heat, the Warriors were clearly drained in the second night of a back-to-back against the Atlanta Hawks. What should have been an easy win for Golden State went down to the final seconds of the game. The Warriors were down by two with 3.2 seconds remaining, but luckily for the Warriors, Andre Iguodala came to their rescue once again and sank a three-pointer at the buzzer.

9. January 5, 2014: Warriors 112, Wizards 96
Golden State had it easy against the Washington Wizards. While the game was tied at halftime, the Warriors started the third quarter with a 30-5 run and never looked back. Lee had 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson dominated against one of the highest-scoring backcourts in the NBA in John Wall and Bradley Beal. Curry had 14 points and 10 assists and Thompson added 26 points in the victory.

10. January 7, 2014: Warriors 101, Bucks 80
Golden State played the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, which happened to be Andrew Bogut’s first time playing in Milwaukee since they traded him to the Warriors in 2012. The Warriors hadn’t won in Milwaukee since 2008, but that changed Tuesday night, when the Warriors won 101-80. During the first half, the Warriors let the Bucks stay close. Golden State went on a 10-0 run at the beginning of the second quarter and ended the half leading 50-48, but during the second half the Warriors took charge—they began the third quarter on a 23-7 run. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson scored 15 points each, and David Lee, who was named Western Conference Player of the Week, added 22 points and 18 rebounds. The win was the Warriors 10th in a row, the first time Golden State won 10 straight since December 6-23, 1975.

The Warriors should expect a huge welcome back on Friday, when they play the Boston Celtics at Oracle Arena.
