In today's Warriors news update, the Golden State Warriors are one of just a few teams currently scheduled to meet with Los Angeles Lakers free agent Pau Gasol.
According to James Herbert of CBS Sports, "Pau Gasol will meet with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors in free agency, according to the Los Angeles Times' Mike Bresnahan, who added that Gasol "might" talk with the Los Angeles Lakers, too."
While teams such as the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, and perhaps Memphis Grizzlies are expected to make pitches to Gasol, the fact stands that the Warriors are one of just three teams who are guaranteed to speak with the former All-Star.
At 34 years old, Pau Gasol has indicated on several occasions that his main priority is to play for a winner. The Thunder, Bulls, and Warriors offer talented rosters which could present intriguing fits for Gasol's skill set.
While he may not be a featured piece on any of those teams, including the Warriors, his scoring and defensive capabilities are a major plus which could help elevate one of his chosen destination to championship status.
