The Warriors have Sunday off after a grueling stretch that saw them play four games in five days...but instead of relaxing at home, Steph Curry and Draymond Green are at the D-League showcase in Santa Cruz.
Golden State's D-League affiliate in Santa Cruz is hosting this year's showcase, and the two Warriors stars decided to stop by in order to support some family and friends.
Curry's younger brother Seth is currently the D-League's second-leading scorer with 25.4 points per game, and he's in town with the visiting Erie Bayhawks. The showcase features 18 games over five days, and all 18 D-League squads are in attendance (as well as numerous scouts and officials from teams around the NBA).
While Curry is in Santa Cruz to support a family member, Green is there to cheer on Michigan State teammate Kalin Lucas. Lucas plays for the Iowa Energy, where he's currently averaging 18.6 points per game.
Golden State's next game comes at home on Monday against the Denver Nuggets, and the 32-6 Warriors will try to continue and improve on what's already the NBA's best record. The Nuggets game will be the first of a five-game homestand that sees Steve Kerr's Warriors take on Denver, Houston, Sacramento, Boston and the Chicago Bulls.
