The Golden State Warriors tinkered their way to the best record in the Western Conference with a variety of moves over the past few seasons, but it sounds like they're not interested in messing with a winning formula.
On 95.7 The Game, special advisor Jerry West addressed a variety of topics, among them Golden State's plans heading into the trade deadline. According to West, there aren't any moves likely to go down before next week's deadline:
"I don't see that happening with this team. No."
The Warriors have established fantastic chemistry over the past year, with Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, Andrew Bogut and the team's long list of star players all working together smoothly and efficiently on and off the court. Disrupting that chemistry at this point wouldn't make much sense, and the Warriors front office saw what can go wrong when a team over-tinkers with their neighbors across the street. The Oakland A's also had a sensational record at the halfway point, but they lost steam after making a few late trades heading into the deadline, and didn't make it out of the AL Wild Card game.
If Golden State does make a move, it would likely involve Ray Allen - the former NBA Champion is still considering his options as he weighs a return to the NBA, and the Warriors are one of several contenders in the running. At the moment, however, Allen's plans are still very much undecided.
