The Golden State Warriors improved the best record in the NBA (26-5) on Friday night with a dominant 126-105 win over the Eastern Conference leading Toronto Raptors.
The significance of the game - billed as a Finals preview between the leaders in each conference - was not lost on the Warriors, as they game out with the goal of making a statement.
"It was a good statement game,'' said forward Marreese Speights after the game.
"This is a team we could possibly play later on in the year," Draymond Green chimed in, "so try to make a statement."
"There are certain games during the NBA season when you're a good team, like we are, certain games stand out," head coach Steve Kerr said. "Tonight was one of them."
The Warriors have now pushed their home winning streak to 11 games and are 10-0 against the Eastern Conference this season. Their next game comes Monday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
