Steve Kerr, Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors are still busy messing up the record books...and they don't seem to be slowing down.
Wednesday night's 104-89 win over the Miami Heat tied a franchise record for consecutive home wins at 15, and the Warriors will have the chance to set the new record next Monday against the Denver Nuggets. The Warriors have already set a new franchise record winning streak this season after taking 16 straight games in November and December. Kerr has already set new records by putting together the best 30- and 35-game starts by a rookie coach in league history.
After back-to-back losses to the Clippers and Lakers on December 23 and 25, the Warriors have won their last eight. PG Stephen Curry had a "down" month in December, averaging 21.6 points per game on .483 shooting, but he's been in sensational form since January 1. In his last six games, Curry is averaging 25.7 points, 9.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds in just 32.7 minutes of action per contest. He's also shooting a gaudy .545 from the field and .480 from behind the arc, his highest numbers in a six-game stretch so far this season. Curry hit double digits in assists just twice in December, but has already reached that mark four times in January.
Golden State plays two tough road games back-to-back on Friday and Saturday - they'll first face the Oklahoma City Thunder at 5:00 PM PT (ESPN), then turn around and visit the Houston Rockets at 5:00 PM PT Saturday evening (NBATV).
