After a surprising 110-100 loss at the Utah Jazz on Friday night, the Golden State Warriors (36-8) now sit three games behind the Atlanta Hawks (39-8) in the win column, thus no longer hold the NBA's best record after months of claiming that honor.
"We can't play that way on the road, not getting those loose balls and not boxing out, not getting a body on people, and expect to win," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said of Friday's loss, via the San Jose Mercury News.
"I didn't feel like we had great efforts out of a lot of people tonight."
One of the players who had a majorly disappointing night was center Andrew Bogut, who posted just four points and four rebounds in 23 minutes while having what he termed to be his worst night of the season so far.
"I have the confidence that if I have a bad offensive game that I can still be on the floor and affect the game defensively, but tonight I didn't even do that," Bogut said. "It was shocking."
The Warriors will have a chance to rectify matters quickly on the second game of a back-to-back, as they host the Phoenix Suns at Oracle Arena on Saturday night.
