The Golden State Warriors have not lost three-straight games all year, and the threat of that happening prior to Game 4 of the team's Western Conference Semifinals series with the Memphis Grizzlies got under their skins.
"We were pissed off with each other,” Bogut said, via SF Gate. “We demanded more of each other. The coaches did, we did. It wasn’t a happy place to be, and that’s the best part of this team — whenever that happens, silence in the locker room, silence in the breakfast room — I know the next game is trouble for the opponent. It happened to us two or three times in the regular season. When we lost two straight games, it was a huge deal for us.”
The team didn't practice the day after Game 3, opting to meet at the hotel and watch the whole game, critiquing missed opportunities as they went along. It was effective, as the switch clicked for the Dubs as they took the series with three rousing victories in a row.
“It’s more like, ‘We know what you can do, do that next game.’ ‘You didn’t do that well.’ It wasn’t personal. It’s tough to hear sometimes, but I think we got after each other just enough to piss each other off and have that edginess, where you come into that game, saying, I’m going to do what I know my strengths are and we’re going to win the game.”
