The Golden State Warriors have the No. 30 pick in the NBA Draft, and there has been a lot of clutter to sort through as to their plans with the pick. Here are three rumors you need to know:
1) Terry Rozier Top Target?
Golden State is reportedly targeting Louisville point guard Terry Rozier to be the backup for Stephen Curry, according to the San Francisco Sun Times. NBAdraft.net agrees, citing Rozier's explosiveness:
Terry Rozier is a promising young prospect with a great deal of upside … He’s a very good outside shooter, ball handler, and has terrific athletic ability. He puts for effort on the defensive end and is a productive ball thief. He must improve his shot selection, and ability to finish at the rim. Although a bit of a combo, he takes good care of the ball, and 2014-15 will most likely present him with a great opportunity to play a much larger role, show his development at the point guard position, and very possibly vault his draft position.
2) Pat Connaughton In Consideration?
Notre Dame shooting guard Pat Connaughton turned heads with his outstanding play in the NCAA Tournament, and he could land anywhere from late in the first round to late in the second round. The Warriors are interested enough in him to fly him in for a private workout tomorrow. If Rozier is off the board, it appears the Connaughton is their next choice.
3) Warriors To Trade David Lee On Draft Night?
There are numerous reports that the Warriors are ready to part ways with David Lee, their highest paid player, and may do so on draft night. However, that may not be the case, according to CSNBayArea:
Asked on Thursday about trading David Lee, Warriors general manager Bob Myers made a very tepid attempt to squash reports that he already has decided to move the veteran power forward. “I know it’s been reported, but we’re still trying to figure out everything with the roster,” Myers said at a season-ending news conference. “At this stage, we usually have more time before the draft or free agency. “But I won’t sit here and say we’ve decided anything definitively.
