Golden State Warriors center Andris Biedrins has officially stepped his game up. When the Warriors played the Utah Jazz Biedrins rebounded a season-high of twelve rebounds. We haven’t seen stats like this from Biedrins in a while.
Biedrins has been lacking the last couple of years due to what everyone perceives as confidence issues. Year after year Biedrins has stated that he was going to change and become a better player. Well, this year he is finally sticking to his word.
Biedrins does not start over rookie Festus Ezeli, but he seems to be stepping up his game so that he can. If you’ve been a Warriors fan since the 2007 playoffs then you know how good of a player Andris Biedrins truly is. During the 2008-2009 season, Biedrins averaged a career high of 11.2 rebounds per game. Last season, he averaged just 3.7 rebounds per game.
With Biedrins sticking to his word and making the effort to become a better player Warriors fans can finally have their old star back. Since Biedrins is showing improvement since last season, he should be receiving more playing time; he may even steal Festus Ezeli’s spot as starting center.
