Warriors’ guards Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry will be unstoppable this upcoming season. We’ll see these two play alongside each other for the second year during the October 23 season opener against the Phoenix Suns.

I know, I'm acting like they haven’t really played together… but they really haven’t. Last season Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry were the two main guards and all anyone ever talked about. Thompson was pushed into a corner and overlooked until Ellis was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in the middle of the season. Unfortunately, Thompson and Curry were still unable to play together due to Curry’s relentless ankle issues. But Curry has now been cleared to play this preseason after having ankle surgery. The duo will finally have the chance to play a season alongside one another… that is if Curry's ankle stays healthy.
Curry and Thompson will have a very different season than Ellis and Curry. They’ll be able to work together without the confusion of roles unlike last season with Ellis and Curry constantly having their roles overlap. Curry is going to be the point guard and Thompson is going to be the shooting guard there will be no overlap of roles. They will be playing the positions that they are best at. We haven’t been able to see Curry and Thompson play together much due to Ellis’s presence last season and Curry’s ankle, benching him for most of the season. But, this year the Warriors new duo should be able to form good chemistry together.
It is going to be exciting and maybe at times unbearable to watch the two work out the kinks in their newly found roles, but once everything is figured out, don’t expect anything less than amazing. Curry and Thompson both have an unselfish way of playing and everyone is going to have a chance to excel. Besides Bogut, this duo is going to be the main factor in the Warriors success this upcoming season. We may even get to bring out our “We Believe” signs for the first time in five years. And that is something I have been waiting for!
