If there's any indication that the Memphis Grizzlies need Mike Conley to get healthy and soon, Sunday was it.
The Golden State Warriors remain undefeated in these 2015 NBA Playoffs after dismantling the Grizzlies 101-86 on a extremely loud Sunday afternoon in Oakland, taking advantage of Conley's absence with another great backcourt performance by the Splash Brothers.
Golden State used an altogether balanced attack (four players in double figures) to blitz the Grizzlies from inside and outside, continuously extending a nine-point halftime lead en route to a comfortable Game 1 win in front of another ear-splitting home crowd at Oracle Arena.
Key Number: 50.6%, 46.4%
The Warriors shot the lights out from all over the court on Sunday, hitting on 55.6% of their shots overall and 50% from beyond the arc. Memphis had no answers from a defensive perspective, allowing the Warriors to win this one going away.
Golden State MVP:
It sounds like a broken record, but Stephen Curry once again keyed the Dubs' attack with dynamic shooting (22 points), pinpoint passing (7 assists), and a competitive fire that has stoked the flames for the Warriors all season long.
Memphis MVP:
Zach Randolph did straight work in the paint all day, posting 20 points and 9 rebounds to provide some punch on a dismal day for the Grizzlies.
What's Next?
The teams will take a day off tomorrow before resuming the series in Oakland on Tuesday. Tipoff is slated for just after 7:30pm PST.
