Tuesday night, the Warriors won the Game 2 of the series 131-117.
The Warriors lost All-Star David Lee Saturday night when he tore his right hip flexor. Lee has also been hiding a back injury for two weeks. He has been playing with this back injury and would have continued if he did not tear his right hip flexor. Due to this injury, Lee is out for the rest of the season.
Curry and the rest of the Warriors were forced to play Tuesday night without Lee on the court. Jarrett Jack took Lee’s place in the starting lineup.
At the beginning of the game, Curry seemed off, especially when he air balled a three-pointer in the first quarter. Curry prevailed and ended the game with 30 points and 13 assists. In the last few minutes of the third quarter, Stephen Curry limped off of the court after twisting his left ankle. Luckily it was a false alarm and he returned to the court at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
The Warriors were able to out shoot the Nuggets in Game 2. Thompson and Curry had 51 points combined, going 21-of-34 on shooting. Jarrett Jack added 26 points.
Barnes finished the game with 24 points and six rebounds in 33 minutes. TNT commentators could not stop talking about Barnes’s performance during Tuesday night’s game. Barnes is a twenty year-old rookie from North Carolina. At twenty years old, he can only get better. Once Barnes matures more and his confidence increases, he will be an outstanding player.
The Warriors were able to outscore the Nuggets during Game 2. Now that the series is tied, the Warriors will be hosting the Nuggets at 7:30 on Friday at the Oracle Arena.
