First year head coach Steve Kerr has led the Golden State Warriors to the best record in the league with a 18-2 mark, and they're currently riding a 13-game winning streak. That has him as the current favorite to win NBA Coach of the Year, but he isn't drawing praise from everyone.
His former teammate with the Chicago Bulls, Dennis Rodman, had some harsh criticism of Kerr he told to Jim Park of Sheridan Blog.
"Kerr ain't coaching s***," Rodman said. "He's just having a good time sitting there. Got into a system where you can win. Just have a bunch of good assistants."
Rodman went to say that he likes Kerr and thinks he's a good guy, but has a problem with first year players-turned-coaches.
Kerr has certainly surrounded himself with some good assistants - former Suns head coach Alvin Gentry, Ron Adams, and Luke Walton - but it's not fair to say that he's had no impact on this team.
He inserted Harrison Barnes into the starting lineup over Andre Iguodala, and that seems to have created a more well-rounded team. Golden State has become much more efficient offensively because of the schemes Kerr has introduced, and he has them playing better defense, which has helped them get off to this great start.
