ANDREW BOGUT, SHOULD HE STAY OR SHOULD HE GO?

The Warriors were supposed to bounce back from their five game losing streak after the 2013 All-Star weekend. David Lee, Stephen Curry, Harrison Barnes and Klay Thompson all performed immaculately this weekend. But, that wasn’t enough.

In Tuesday’s game against the Utah Jazz, Curry had 29 points and went 12 of 22 and David Lee helped with 18 points. They played well tonight, but they were not able to pull away with the victory. It seems that ever since Andrew Bogut was cleared to play, the Warriors haven’t been… the Warriors.

I’m not blaming Bogut for their losing streak. He only played fifteen minutes this game. What I am saying is, why would you ruin something that was so good and make it worse? The Warriors had a dream team. They were doing astounding. They had record-breaking stats and after sixteen years, the Warriors were noticed and had David Lee chosen to play in the 2013 All-Star game.

Yes, it is true that we have been searching for the perfect center for years and we finally acquired him when we acquired Bogut. But the Warriors have been playing without him for half of the season and they have been playing flawlessly. Now that he’s back, what has he done? As of now his presence has brought the Warriors to a six game losing streak that they can’t seem to get away from. So should he stay or should he go?

Andrew Bogut is an incredible basketball player. The Warriors are lucky to have him on their team, but they need to work on their chemistry with him playing on the court. That is something that they haven’t been able to do with his injury. Since Bogut has been injured, they have created a way of playing that didn’t necessarily require his presence. The Warriors need a big man and Bogut is the answer to that problem. Festus Ezeli and Andris Biedrins are remarkable players but with a rookie and Biedrins still working on his comeback, Bogut is their best answer to the missing center. He has years of experience in this league and is able to bring that knowledge to the court. The only thing that is missing is the chemistry that is needed in order to work as a team and win games.

As of now, the Warriors need to work on that. Chemistry is the key to a successful team. This is still the Warriors golden year; there is just a minor hiccup in their road to success.
