The Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies have opened up an intriguing Western Conference Semifinals series, and there's plenty to like about this classic battle between two teams at the top of their games. Here's our list of 3 Bold Predictions For The Warriors vs. Grizzlies Series.
1. Mike Conley Won't Be A Factor
The Grizzlies point guard was seen warming up before Game 1 in Oakland, but he was still held out with the multiple facial fractures that continue to impair his vision. It's plausible that he could be back in the lineup by Game 3 in Memphis, but he's going to need time to get his sea legs against one of the fastest and most efficient teams in NBA history. It won't happen in this series, as Conley will be a non-factor either due to his absence or otherwise.
2. The Splash Brothers Will Average 60 Points Together Per Game
They came close in the first round, with Stephen Curry averaging 33.8 points per contest and Klay Thompson averaging 25. With Conley currently out and the Grizzlies' perimeter defense suffering as a result, the Splash Brothers are going to put together an epic barrage of dead-eye shots from beyond the arc.
3. The Warriors Will Sweep Their Way Into The Conference Finals
Memphis has the horses inside to bang with the Warriors, as Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol should do damage in the paint. However, Golden State has one of the deepest rotations in the history of ever and enough grit thanks to Draymond Green and Andrew Bogut to neutralize the Grizzlies' "Grit and Grind" strength. The Warriors can play the Grizzlies' game comfortably, but Memphis can't survive the other way around. This has all the makings of a sweep for the Dubs.
