The women’s tennis team got back in action this weekend up in Ann Arbor at the Michigan Invitational. In fact, in the tournament, which features several ranked teams, the Jackets are ranked no. 7 in the country and are arguably the favorite. In the first day of play, two of the five Tech singles players won their matches, including a massive upset of the nation’s fifth ranked player, Gabriela Talaba, by Paige Hourigan, who is ranked 94th, in straight sets. Freshman Ida Jarlskog’s win was also an upset, but it took three sets to decide that match.
