Situated firmly behind the dynamic Justin Thomas, Tim Byerly doesn’t get a whole lot of invitations to the party.
And when he does, it is not always a good thing. Remember last season in the loss to Duke? With Thomas ineffective and banged up, backup quarterback Byerly got some of the most significant playing time of his career. And he cobbled together some nice numbers (7-for-10 passing, 125 yards, even had a reception). But who was going to celebrate that in such a painful loss?
