Georgia Tech baseball just couldn't close out a series win against No. 4 Miami, falling by a final score of 17-6 to the Canes in the rubber match. Tech squandered the 1-0 series lead that the team enjoyed following Saturday's game, dropping the final two games by a combined score of 29-8 after the initial 12-1 victory. Outside of ace Brandon Gold, Tech's starting staff -- and the pitching staff as a whole, to be perfectly candid -- left a lot to be desired during the weekend set. Miami is unquestionably one of the most talented teams in the entire country, but allowing 29 runs over two games regardless of the opponent is not acceptable for an ACC team with high postseason aspirations.
