Last night, during WWE Raw, Roman Reigns, also known as former Georgia Tech defensive tackle Joe Anoa’i, announced that he had been living in remission from leukemia for 11 years, and that it had returned. Because of the return, he decided to relinquish the Universal championship. In true Roman Reigns fashion, though, he said that this is not a retirement but after he’s done “whooping leukemia’s ass once again, I’m coming back home.”
Georgia Tech athletic director Todd Stansbury also released a statement.
On a more positive note, Josh Pastner picked up a 2019 commitment in JUCO F David Didenko.
