Tech A-backs take a step up

Georgia Tech is thin at quarterback behind starter Justin Thomas, something that could come into play if things get out of hand in the second half Saturday against Tulane.

The Yellow Jackets’ top two backups were not suited up Saturday. Senior Tim Byerly, the No. 2 quarterback, injured his right leg in Monday’s practice and was on crutches on the sideline. Coach Paul Johnson has not revealed the extent of Byerly’s injury.
