Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson has not often liked what he has seen from his team this season, but he has appreciated their effort. Johnson said he told the team following the 38-21 loss to Miami last Saturday that, while the result was unacceptable, he gave players credit for how hard they played against the Hurricanes.
“They’re still fighting like (heck) in the fourth quarter; they’re still playing,” Johnson said Monday. “I’ve seen a lot of teams who wouldn’t. They’d just sack the bats and go on.”
Johnson has continually said that the team has practiced well, an indication of players’ commitment and willingness to endure the pounding of full-pads workouts in preparation for games.
