Georgia Tech signee KirVonte Benson, who tore his ACL during his senior season at Marietta High and planned to enroll in January, has begun classes this semester. Benson, who ran for 3,587 yards in two seasons, is expected to play A-back.
“He decided he wanted to come to school,” coach Paul Johnson said Tuesday. “It was his decision.”
The logic with Benson delaying enrollment until January was that, as he rehabilitated his injury this fall, it would not have to count against him as a redshirt year if he were not yet enrolled.
