I’d make a joke that I should have had one of these written for the 2017 season, but then I realized that was before this column started. Oops. So, for a second week in a row, we’re writing this one from scratch.
Last year, I noted that Tech’s schedule went to 12 games “for good” in 2006, but, well, that lasted all of about 378 days between having that no longer be the case. Whereas in the typical season, Tech plays eight Atlantic Coast Conference games, with six coming against the other Coastal Division teams of Pittsburgh, Virginia, VPISU, Duke, Miami, and North Carolina, and two against teams from the Atlantic Division, featuring permanent rival Clemson and a rotating opponent from amongst the other six teams, this year, all logic and normalcy is thrown out of the window.
