The Jackets started off fast in the top of the first, with Katie Krzus and Becca Prairie both gathered RBIs to give the Jackets a 2-0 lead. Fairfield would answer however scoring 3 runs to take a 3-2 lead. in the sixth Katie Krzus hit a solo home run to tie the game up at 3. however in the next half inning Fairfield would take the lead back off a throwing error. The Jackets could not rally in the seventh and fell to Fairfield 4-3.
Takeaways: The shutdown innings, or innings after the offense scored are what hurt the Jackets in this game, and really has been a struggle in their first couple weeks of games.
