The 2019 softball season is underway and the Georgia Tech softball team had itself an up-and-down opening weekend of games. The Jackets traveled to Jacksonville, FL for the weekend to take part in the River City Leadoff.
The Jackets first two games of the series was against the Big East’s Providence. The Jackets would drop both games in heartbreakers to the Friars, both by the final score of 4-3. In game one against Providence, the Jackets got six decent innings out of starter Morgan Bruce, who allowed three runs over five hits and three walks. Drew Puckett drove in two runs for the Jackets in the loss.
