Georgia Tech athletic director Todd Stansbury announced on Monday morning that Georgia Tech softball head coach Shelly Hoerner’s contract would not be renewed after four seasons. Hoerner was hired after the 2013 season, after the dismissal of Sheron Perkins.
In a press release on RamblinWreck.com on Monday morning, Stansbury said the following;
I’d like to thank Coach Hoerner for her dedication to Georgia Tech, she worked tirelessly for our student-athletes over the past four years but, ultimately, I’ve made the difficult decision that new leadership is needed to return our softball program to national prominence.
