Tech’s first TE commit in a decade, Deveney was originally committed to Rutgers, but after meeting with Coach Geoff Collins and visiting campus this weekend, he decommitted from the Scarlet Knights yesterday and joined Tech’s 2019 recruiting class just two short days before the December National Signing Day.
Deveney comes to the Flats from the Hun School in Princeton, NJ. He’s 6’6” and 245 lbs, a prototypical size for a TE. He’s only played football since his junior year of high school, but what he lacks in experience he makes up for in size, his ability to use that size to his advantage, and his catching ability.
