71 rushing attempts, 320-yards, 4.5 average. That was The Citadel’s rushing numbers on Saturday. Not exactly what you would expect out of a defense that played extremely well against the run a week ago. The Jackets really never seemed ready for the triple-option on Saturday and were out of position on multiple occasions. They struggled in stopping the Bulldogs in space and all the small carries really began adding up. You can’t blame them a ton because the offense couldn’t stay on the field but the defense needed to hand in a better performance on Saturday. As poor of a performance the offense had, the defensive performance was almost as bad and disappointing.
