Unsurprisingly, Georgia Tech quarterback Lucas Johnson has entered the transfer portal. The rising redshirt senior announced on Monday afternoon of his intentions
Entering 2019, it was expected that Johnson could see quite a bit of time at the quarterback position. Johnson would see some time and ended up attempting 37 passes over the course of the season. He also had 22 rushing attempts on the season.
That being said, for most of the season, Johnson found himself behind redshirt freshman James Graham on the Jackets quarterback depth chart. With two freshman coming in for the 2020 season including highly touted four-star prospect Jeff Sims, it was possibly that Johnson would be lower on the depth chart in 2020.
