Brant Mitchell finished the 2017 season with 51 tackles second to only Victor Alexander who had 60, among players that are returning on the defense in 2018. Mitchell was faced with the tough assignment of replacing PJ Davis in the linebacker role and made his mark with his 51 total tackles including five stops and a pass breakup against Tennessee. A lower body injury plagued him in the middle of the season and recorded 28 total stops over the final three games. His season high of 11 tackles came at Duke on Nov. 18.
What He Did in 2018:
Mitchell in 2018 will likely see his tackle totals increase with the new style of defense that Coach Woody is looking to install.
