Coming out of Buford High School, Gantt was rated as a 3-star prospect by both Rivals (5.7) and the 247Sports Composite (0.8606). He first committed to Tech shortly after National Signing Day of last year on Feb. 11, 2015. He also had reported offers from quite a few schools, including Iowa, Miami (Fl.), Mississippi State and Ohio State. Clemson, Florida State and Oregon also reportedly had interest in Gantt. He stayed true to his commitment to the very end, though, and signed with the Yellow Jackets on National Signing Day.
