It’s not all the time that college coaches talk about recruiting misses. On Monday, Josh Pastner briefly commented about the recruitment of Pittsburgh guard Xavier Johnson during his weekly call-in show.
Johnson, a freshman at Pittsburgh has been a superb for the Panthers this season. Through 26 games this season, Johnson is averaging 16.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. A tremendous line for a true freshman in the ACC. In conference play, Johnson has been playing just as well, averaging a line of 17.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.
Both Johnson’s points per game and assists per game averages would be leading the Yellow Jackets this season.
