Georgia Tech(17-14, 8-10 ACC) learned Sunday night that the team had earned the No. 6 seed in the 32-team National Invitation Tournamentfield, and will host No. 3 seed Indiana (18-15, 7-11 Big Ten) Tuesday night at 9 p.m.
Tickets for the game at McCamish Pavilion went on sale almost immediately after NIT seeding was announced. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
Exceeding expectations, Georgia Tech had wins over three top-15 teams in North Carolina, Florida State and Notre Dame, and managed eight Atlantic Coast Conference wins.
This is the ninth appearance in the NIT for the Yellow Jackets, and Georgia Tech’s 25th overall postseason berth.
