Georgia Tech (10-4) and Miami (10-3) started a three-game series on Friday that saw the Jackets take the first game by a score of 5-4 in extra innings.
Miami, before the game, was riding one of the best batting averages in the ACC and a perfect 8-0 record on their home field.
Xzavion Curry (2-0 1.80 era) started the game for the Yellow Jackets and in the second inning reached a career milestone of 200 strikeouts. Curry stayed hot throughout the game exiting after 6 1/3 innings with nine strikeouts and would finish with a no-decision after a strong night.
