After losing their series opener to Virginia Tech on Thursday, Georgia Tech’s baseball team had to wait until Saturday morning in an attempt to even the series against the Coastal Division rival. The Jackets were able to get the job done on Saturday morning in game one with a 7-5 victory over the Hokies.
Connor Thomas got the start in game one on Saturday and gave the Yellow Jackets eight quality innings, allowing them to save the bullpen for the second game of the double-header. Thomas did allow four runs across 10 hits and one walk but was able to strike out nine in the process while limiting the overall damage the Hokies could get on Saturday morning.
