The Georgia Bulldogs (21-4) were in town for a midweek game against the Yellow Jackets (17-8) in Atlanta on Tuesday. Georgia Tech entered the night at 6-0 in midweek contests and also with momentum coming off of back to back conference series wins over Virginia and Louisville. Rain would shorten the game but the Jackets took home another top ten win as their bats thundered.
The Bulldogs would strike quickly plating two runs in the first inning, with Georgia Tech responding with a run of their own on a Tristin English sac fly that would score Luke Waddell from third in the bottom half of the first.
