Former Georgia Tech baseball star and current MLB all-star Charlie Blackmon has signed a long-term deal with the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday. The deal is a six-year extension for the 31-year old outfielder worth $108 million. Before signing the extension, Blackmon was slated to hit free agency this fall after resigning a one-year deal worth $14 million this past offseason.
A former second round draft pick in the 2008 draft, Blackmon quickly rose through the Rockies farm system before making his MLB Debut in 2011. Since making his debut in 2011, Blackmon worked his way into becoming a starter for the Rockies by 2014.
